Statuses
Edit a status
Go to WooCommerce → Order statuses and click Edit next to the status. You can change the name, colour, flags and email setting at any time. The slug can’t be changed, because every order in the status stores it.
Delete a status
- Click Delete next to the status.
- Choose where its orders should go (Move orders to: …). This can be a built-in status such as On hold or Completed, or another custom status.
- Confirm.
The orders move in the background, 50 at a time, so large stores don’t time out. While that happens, the status shows as Deleting and can’t be chosen for new orders. It disappears once every order has moved.
These moves send no order emails (not even WooCommerce’s own, such as “Order completed”), no review requests and no “new order” app notifications. WooCommerce still updates stock levels, sales counts and download access for the new status, as it does for any status change, so its usual low-stock alerts can still appear. Payment gateways and integrations also react as they would to any change into that status: for example, WooCommerce PayPal captures an authorised payment when an order reaches Processing or Completed, and configured webhooks fire. Choose the destination status with that in mind: moving to On hold, for example, doesn’t trigger a PayPal capture.
If an order can’t be saved (for example because another plugin blocks the change), OrderHue keeps the status and tries again every 5 minutes. After 12 attempts in a row without progress (roughly an hour) the delete pauses and shows a Retry button. Check those orders’ notes for the error, fix the cause, then click Retry.
A status that is still receiving orders from another deleted status can’t be deleted until that move has finished.
Background moves use WooCommerce’s Action Scheduler, which runs on WordPress cron. On a quiet site, it may take a few minutes to start. See WooCommerce → Status → Scheduled Actions for progress.
Slug rules
- 1–17 characters: lowercase letters, numbers and single hyphens.
- It can’t be the same as a built-in WooCommerce status or one already registered by another plugin.
- Why 17? WooCommerce stores
wc-plus the slug in a 20-character database column.
High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS)
OrderHue works with HPOS on, with HPOS off, and with compatibility sync turned on. Bulk actions work on both the new and the legacy orders screen.
Uninstalling
Uninstalling removes OrderHue’s settings, but orders keep their status values. Before uninstalling, delete each custom status and move its orders to a built-in status. If you uninstall first, reinstall OrderHue and re-create a status with the same slug to bring its orders back.
